10 Autumn Activities for Pregnant Women

Autumn is a wonderful time to be pregnant. The weather is starting to cool down and is a welcome relief from the hot summer days.

With the change of season comes a change in our behavior. We generally participate in different activity and find ourselves in door more.

We think autumn is a great time of the year and here’s why.

1. Shopping Spree

Autumn is a perfect excuse to go on a shopping spree. Dress using layers. Use interesting textures, colours and prints to spice up your wardrobe.

Layers are perfect for this time of year as they can be removed easily with the change in weather.

2. Get active

With the change of season come plenty of falling leaves. Raking leaves is a wonderful low impact exercise that will keep you warm and get your heart rate pumping. It is ideal for pregnancy as it is gentle on your joints and low impact.

3. Apple picking

With autumn come new season apples. Apple picking is an enjoyable family activity.

Pick apples then take them home and cook a warm apple pie for desert. This fun activity will soon become a family tradition looked upon fondly by all.

4. Get crafty

Halloween is fast approaching. Get creative and collect fallen leaves, branches, carve pumpkins, make garlands and get festive.

Doing craft is an activity the whole family can enjoy.

5. Make soup

Autumn means pumpkin season. Enjoy the new seasons harvest. Make warm hearty root vegetable soups the whole family will appreciate.

6. Nest

Decorate the nursery and take the time to nest. Nesting will seem like a wonderful idea, as the days get cooler.

7. Read

Find a cozy spot and read. Educate yourself by reading pregnancy magazines and or birthing books. Knowledge means power and being mentally prepared is always a good idea.

8. Picnic

Go on a picnic and enjoy the warmth of the mid day sun. Enjoy quality couple time before the arrival of baby.

9. Photo shoot

Autumn is a beautiful time of the year and is the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot. If you haven’t already, take the opportunity to do a pregnancy photo shoot. You won’t regret it.

10. Halloween

Dress your bump for Halloween. Get creative and come up with a fun holiday costume you will remember for years to come.
