MOTHERHOOD, NO COMPROMISES
Our mission is to empower women as they navigate the world of motherhood, by providing them with relief, comfort and support through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding and beyond.
When we become mothers, our priorities shift in an instant. Our sole purpose becomes caring for our little ones, and our healing, needs and desires become secondary.
What we so often forget is that our babies’ wellbeing is directly tied to ours. You can’t pour from an empty cup and be everything to someone, without being whole yourself. We exist to remind you that you’re more than just a mum. Your needs matter, and investing in yourself is an investment into your children, and never something to feel guilty about.
From our gentle fabrics, easy breastfeeding access, and flattering cuts, each and every bra has been designed to make your breastfeeding journey as simple as possible. You deserve to feel supported, comfortable, and most importantly, like yourself. This is motherhood, no compromises.
THE CAKE MUMS
Cake began over 18 years ago when our founder, Tracey Montford, faced her own struggle to find maternity and nursing wear that was comfortable, functional and stylish all at once. Becoming a mother seemed to mean giving up her personal style and fitting into a one size fits all idea of what a mum should look like. And who said you couldn’t feel beautiful while breastfeeding? In 2007, it certainly felt that way.
Tracey knew she wasn’t alone. This realisation drove her to create beautiful, high quality pieces that genuinely support women on their breastfeeding journey. From a Sydney garage to being stocked in stores around the world, her vision proved right. Today, her passion for helping women breastfeed with confidence remains at the heart of Cake.
Four years later, Katie joined the team and helped shape the brand’s design direction. A mum of two and a specialist bra designer, she brought technical expertise and a deep understanding of comfort and sustainability. Her journey began when her fuller busted sister, who suffered from scoliosis, struggled to find bras that were both comfortable and stylish. Determined to help, Katie studied lingerie, completed a three year internship at Triumph International and went on to design for Marks and Spencer, Agent Provocateur, Berlei and Pleasure State.
Becoming a mum gave Katie firsthand insight into how much breasts change through pregnancy and breastfeeding, not only in size but also weight, sensitivity and shape. This inspired her mission to innovate through real experience and create bras that adapt and support women as they navigate motherhood.
Together Tracey and Katie continue to drive the business, united by their commitment to comfort, support and care for every mum.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Manufacturing
At Cake, we believe that supporting mums also means caring for the planet and the people who make our products. We only work with manufacturers who share our values, respecting workers’ rights, safety, and fair treatment. Every bra we create with them is consciously crafted with sustainability and ethics in mind. Wherever possible, we use natural or recycled materials, and all fabrics and accessories meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification to ensure they are safe for mum, baby and the planet. As a slow fashion brand, we design our pieces to last, reducing waste and landfill.
Sustainability
Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We design our bras to minimise waste, using seamless knitting where possible and repurposing leftover fabric into inner bra slings. We are committed to using materials and processes that are better for the environment, from choosing eco-friendly fabrics to reducing water and energy usage in production. Our offices and warehouse run entirely on solar energy, and we are constantly exploring ways to reduce our environmental footprint wherever possible.
Packaging
We are also committed to responsible packaging and operations. Single-use plastics have been eliminated from our business, and all packaging we use is recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable. We continue to reduce packaging where possible, using recycled tissue, soy-based inks, and eco-friendly stickers. Every decision we make, from materials and production to storage and shipping, is guided by our responsibility to protect the world our little ones will grow up in.
AWARDS
Recommended by lactation consultants, midwives and industry professionals across the world, we continue to drive innovation where mums need it most. As a recipient of numerous awards and accolades, we're committed to doing exactly what we set out to do—support mamas and make breastfeeding easier.
